A strategic partnership between Allweld Nuclear & Industrial and Intermarine UK to supply services and skilled resources to the UK shipbuilding industry was established January 2023. The partnership included an apprenticeship program to ensure that a steady pipeline of skilled resources are maintained in South Africa, the rest of Africa and abroad.
We are proud to announce the appointment of the first apprentice (first of many) resulting from our partnership. Future apprentices could include various trades such as welders, Boilermakers, Pipefitters, Mechanical Fitters, Electricians and Riggers, and will be managed by our highly competent Training Academy, led by Arenzo Appolus.
We look forward to the program producing many skilled and qualified artisans in the coming years, as they will be exposed to working in environments' where Nuclear Quality Management Systems and Nuclear safety culture is part of our everyday work.
